Tease the Muse News

Greetings, all.

Due to a low number of entries for the Tease the Muse challenge, I am cancelling it. Or rather, I am cancelling the challenge and deadline part of it. I am going to leave all the prompts up, maybe even add more as time goes by, and just let them inspire all the wonderful authors out there as and when they do.

To anyone who would like to offer up a prompt, please feel free to do so. I will open up comments and add them to the list.

To all the authors out there, please feel free to pick a prompt and write it in your own time. You can leave a comment on the page to let us all know that you have written a story, and I will pimp it out.

I am sorry for any disappointment.

Prompts Added

I would like to thank everyone for understanding about me extending the deadline for Tease the Muse. I have added six new prompts to the list as a thank you and bonus. So, please check them out. There are some good ones. I might even use one myself as a promotional piece.

Tease the Muse News

Greetings, all.

Posting was due to start today for the Tease the Muse contest. However, due to a low number of entries, I am going to reschedule the contest deadline, and hopefully entice more authors to pick a prompt and join in the fun.

The new deadline is the 7th of February and posting will begin on St. Valentine’s Day, 14th of February 2016.

Thank you for your understanding.

Tease the Muse: Prompts Needed

Greetings, all.

I have been thinking about a new challenge for the site, something fun for everyone. I was tempted to do a Christmas Challenge, but Kittyinaz is hosting one of those. You should all check that out. So, instead, I have decided it’s time to tease the muse, and host a challenge that everyone can be a part of, readers, writers and maybe even some artists.

What I want is for you to all submit prompts between now and October 30th. The prompts can be as detailed or as simple as you like.

For example:

What if Debbie Pelt would have shot Sookie at the end of book/season four?

Sookie refuses to give Eric up without a fight.

Instead of being raised by their Gran, it was Earl, who raised Sookie and Jason. True Blood.

Maybe some of our talented artists would like to create banners as inspiration for the stories.

On the 1st of November, I will post all the prompts on the site at which time the authors can look them over and see if any appeal to them. Hopefully, they will and they can claim that prompt or prompts and base a story on it. The writers will have until the 18th of December to write their story.

Submit prompts: Between now and 30th October.

Claim a prompt: 1st November

Challenge ends: 18th December

Stories will be posted: 20th December

Voting for your favorite: 27th December

Winners announced: 1st January 2016

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. You can submit prompts by leaving a comment or by email @ svmtbficexchange@gmail.com. Comments will be moderated while the prompts are submitted.

Thank you,

Anyone Interested in a Christmas Challenge?

Greetings, all.

I have recently been thinking what to do with this site between exchanges. I’m planning on holding an exchange once a year. Given how much time and effort goes into running an exchange, I think it’s best to limit them to once a year. I had the idea of running regular contests on the site, perhaps quarterly. The contests would vary in style… Pictures, prompts, themed, movies/songs, etc challenges.

I also thought it could be a good idea if the site had an adopt the bunny function. Where writers and readers can offer up plot ideas that can be adopted by other writers. I’m sure we’ve all got those ideas we would love to see done, but for whatever reason we are unable to write ourselves. I thought it might be a good way to help with the dreaded writer’s block so many of us get.

So, with all that in mind, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a Christmas Challenge? If there is enough interest to warrant one, I will start putting everything together and reveal the details in October.

Let me know what you think.
